Butcher Shop is great food, no doubt about it. I keep wanting to got o B&G, but never manage to. I've eaten twice at Aquataine and once at Hammersley's, and was underwhelmed by both. They're good, sure, but not exceptional for the price and hype. YMMV, of course.

Delux is, and always will be, one of my sleeper favorites.

......and I go to Delux more than Beehive. Althea; and Chris before her, put out exceptional food that you would never expect to find in a dive bar.

excellent taste cten

the cost at both Hammersley's and Aquataine is relative to the price of ingredients. Rachel doesn't buy all that high quality of ingredients. In fact, if you can believe it, Althea buys higher quality ingredients at Delux than Rachel does at Beehive.

I heard that MA was thinking of leasing the tunnels and the sinkholes are environmental damage caused by the state.

Those bastards- clearly there's political corruption involved!

oh, wait- it's Boston. Corruption is a given.

Those bastards- clearly the contracting and construction process was all above board and legitimate!

I wonder if they tried to silence Fuller Wycliff. As you can see here, "clouderator" DHS is very vocal in this thread..but nothing from Fuller. Hmmmm?

I think they're actually the same person. I mean, have you ever seen them together at the same time?

I think we can thank DHS for this one:

Evergreen Solar Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection yesterday, completing a stunning reversal of fortune for a high-flying alternative-energy company that once seemed to herald a new era for the Massachusetts economy.

The Marlborough company developed an efficient process for making silicon wafers used in solar panels, one that promised to lower the cost of solar power and bring new manufacturing jobs to the state. At its peak, Evergreen employed roughly 900 people locally and attracted more than $50 million in state support, as its stock price soared above $100 a share.

Come on now C-ten, it's not like they've named one of the tunnels "The Whitey Bulger Tunnel" (yet atleast! ;)  )

Yeah but maybe for brother Bill? "The Corrupt Midget Tunnel" has a nice ring to it. Howie Carr would be pleased.

My hunch is that Billy is much more likely to get the future 250,000 seat "UMASS Dome" named after him. And of course to facilitate this they'll need to build tunnels from both the Mass Pike and I-91 to the UMASS campus. Whitey atleast gets an off ramp tunnel on one of those named after him! ;)

If the (fortunately) failed attempt at building a 1,000 foot skyscraper in Boston was "Menino's Wang," what would that make the tunnel?

Thanks for the food tips guys, Ive got a dinner at the Bristol Lounge when I arrive, Ill have to check out a couple of the other places the remainder of my stay. Won't be able to hit em all I'm afraid but itll be fun to get out of the faux foodie scene that people like to think exists in Jackson.

Already some great suggestions here. But I'll throw in a plug from Island Creek Oyster Bar. I have a biased connection, so read the reviews for yourself or go try it. You won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend Beehive in between Hammersley's and The Cyclorama. Best (only?)Poutine in Boston, great steaks. Chef there (Becca Newel) one Chopped on Food Network. Great music, too. Get a reservation.

Mmmm, now I'm hungry...

Went to the Beehive last winter and got a table next to the stage which made me nervous when I got there because I didn't want to shout all night but it was awesome. I'd go there again anytime.

It was a year ago. The Health Department knows very little about the art of charcuterie. At one point they were forced to throw out thousands of dollars worth of meats they had curing. So, even though what he currently offers is top notch, he's a bit more reserved in what he does
