Here's a few pictures of the new triple chairlift installed over the summer at Mount Southington that replaces the double T-Bar. It's sad to see the T-Bars go as I've spent a fairly large portion of my skiing life riding them and have thousands of fond memories regardless, time goes on and things change.

Here's the pics.....

Weird to see it but I imagine it's a good thing for them. Must mean there are enough visits to the hill to warrant it and will likely result in more in the future. Now they just need to work on that lodge. ;)

The closing of Powder Ridge might of helped them out. I'm puzzled to why they spent the $$ on that..

That's sort of my point. The place doesn't seem like a huge money maker to me. They're south enough in the state and lacking elevation so they seem to have a hard time keeping the snow. I haven't been since my first season skiing (so about 5 years) but back then, their rental department wasn't that great and their main lodge was pretty dismal and smelly. I would think that they would want to beef some other things up than adding a brand new lift, but maybe they're doing better than I thought. If they are, good for them! Without Powder Ridge, they should be a good alternative in the area.

Ugh! My local newspaper has a crappy website! They had an article on this a few weeks back. From what it said, they have a decent amount of schools and race programs going there in the evening. After Powder Ridge closed, there really wasn't anything else in the Southern Part of the state to handle the after school programs.
