I just picked up identical replacement shells for my ski boots for $300.00. I put around 200 days on my current shells and they're starting to break down. I have custom liners, custom footbeds, and Hotronics that will all drop right in without doing anything. I should be good to go for another few years.

Sweet. How old (in years) were the shells? Did you find them at a shop or directly from the manufacturer?

I bought them from Ray Garrett at The Basin Ski Shop at KMart. He's been doing my boot work for ages. I was dropping off a tune and really wasn't shopping. We got to talking because I was wearing a 1980's sweater from the old Finish Line ski shop where he used to work. I remarked that I was bummed that I could no longer get the Head/San Marco silicon injection liners since my shells were starting to show big signs of age. Since it's no labor, he cut me a deal.

The shells I'm on now were shot with custom liners in March two years ago. I'd purchased those shells the previous spring so they were a 2006 model year. I'm crossing 200 days on the shells and there's no way they'll hold up another season. The shells I just bought are a 2009 model year. The cosmetics are slightly different but the shells are otherwise identical.

And lunch yesterday was an apple in the parking lot. Too much tailgating the last few weeks. My clothes are starting to get tight.
