Next weekend getaway

Any good suggestions for a North Conway area hotel next weekend? I'm sort of on a budget (would like to stay < $200 a night), we found the Nordic Lodge in Bartlett that looks pretty nice.

Haven't made plans yet for activities. My wife isn't much of a mt. biker but I was thinking we could do Great Glen trails, maybe a kayak thing, probably a trip up Mt. Washington, since she has never been.

Any other good hidden gems? Would prefer to not have a place with 1000 screaming kids running around, haha. We are overdue for a low-key weekend away.

Ironically, we are heading there the last weekend of the month. Look at this place:

I've stayed there before. (and probably where we will stay again)

It is quaint and off the main drag a bit. Walking distance to downtown and a stone's throw from Cranmore. I think the price for the lower two tier rooms are right in your budget.

Definitely a good choice. A buddy of a good friend of mine used to be the Brewmaster there.

For food, my understanding is White Moutain Cider Co. is the best food in the Valley.

You're going to see LOTS of snazzy road bikes hanging off and on top of cars up there this weekend! Tomorrow is the Mount Washington Hill Climb bike race! My local cycle club has about 25 people taking on the 7.6 miles of climbing hell! And my guess is that Saturday night in/around North Conway, you'll see plenty of fit looking, tired people celebrating their ride with a few drinks! :beer:

Hahaha I was considering driving up Mt Washington tomorrow Oh well.

I was thinking about the cog railway but it's pretty damn expensive - I think close to $175 for my wife and I.

+1 on the Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery! Ate/drank a ton of there food and beverage last weekend as I was a member of the Moat's team for the 24 hours of Great Glen bike race last weekend. Be sure to grab yourself a few of the Iron Mike's Pale Ales in the big cans. Great stuff!!
