Interesting to see, and they want to spend how much at Belleayre? I'm sure the owner over at Platty will be happy to see the issues at ORDA.

Just figured I'd stick this here.

EXTREME TUBING AT LAKE PLACID
The Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid, New York, has decided to offer ‘extreme tubing’ this summer.
Participants will ‘Hop in and hold on’ as they rocket down the landing hills of the 20 meter, 48 meter and 90 meter ski jumps, approaching speeds of 50 miles-per-hour. The cost is $8 per hour on the 20 meter hill, $12 per hour on the 48 meter hill (both suited for children aged eight or older) or the cost for the 90 meter hill is $35 per hour for which participants must be at least 13 years old. One person is allowed per tube.

That looks crazy.... Imagine flipping that thing going 50MPH and hitting the grass at the bottom.

That's good to hear. I've sent multiple requests the last few years to try to get a look at their financials (I believe they're probably worse than people believe), all of which went unanswered.

Ugh.... the waste, lack of financial IQ, and government incompetence is just as bad as I thought. And it probably IS much worse than this audit shows, given this is not a full and comprehensive audit.

On a selfish note, it would appear my favorite annual Whiteface event is likely going to go the way of the dodo bird given the slick Corporate sponsor was absolutely raking non-financially savvy local-yocal ORDA management over the coals on it. Sigh.

Anyway, if you're interested in accounting/finance and want to read more..... link to the audit below.

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. There's probably a line of lawyers at the bottom waiting.

How come anything gnarly looking is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Thats the problem with this era that we always think about who will be getting sued first. Eventually downhill skiing will be too dangerous for the general public
