I'm from Mass, though I haven't lived there in 'gasp' nearly 20 years. The Masshole rap still carries though.

I've had many great friends and met many good people from NY, but I still can't truly 'like' them if they are Yankee fans. Just the way it is if you're born a Red Sox fan. Kinda like the Shites vs. the Sunnis in Iraq, though obviously a lot more civil.

It's mainly the ones that move to the country build a McMansion and then start complaining that the farm next door is spreading manure and operating machinery early in the morning. Although not exclusive to NYers, they seem to be large proportion.

I'm a NYer (Westchester County) but my most hated of regions is LI. Sorry guys. All the LI people on AZ seem like good peeps. I can't stand the stereotypical LIer. We refer to them as FLIDs, F'ing Long Island D-bags. Most of my hatred is from losing to LI teams in the lax state semi finals 2 years in a row.

I am roughly 90 miles North of the city and i see a huge difference between were I am and Westchester South. The people who i do know from there never shut up about New York City. NYC this, NYC that. NYC is so much better than here. I feel the more northern NY'ers are ok though(although I may be biased.)

NO poughkeepsie is 70 mile to nyc and 70 miles to albany..Any one who lives south of hyde park are now considered Citidiots. They have turned dutchess into westchester and are like a cancerous growth heading north. As soon as the get a high speed train that goes 100mph they will infect all the way north to albany.

It's a money thing. NYC has a lot of folks with money. Money gives (some) people a sense of entitlement and arrogance that they bring with them when they buy their summer homes and go to Stratton and Killington.

Every place has a certain reputation and for the most part I think they apply. NYC is rough city..big crowds tight streets people will walk past you and bang into you and just keep going...its NY and that what I like about it.. The south, people are real slow....it can take forever just to get through a checkout at a store. Midwest, super nice people. Chicago is a large city like NYC..lots of money in Chicago but the people are so different, not sure why that is but the midwest is known for its down to earth people.

All these people hating on NY should really be hating on NJ..although I only live 20 miles from the Garden State, I'm happy to be outside of the state with uber high car insurance, property taxes, and that stench in the air that only a Bon Jovi loving big haired Jersey girl would love...lol..

Oh yeah and I live 90 miles west of the Big Apple and the amount of commuters is astonishing..Even at 6:30PM to 7:00PM there is hella traffic leaving The City..it's the rat race..
