BARTLETT, New Hampshire — February 18, flashback to the early days of freestyle skiing when neon, straight skis and old style stunts will be the site at the 2nd Annual Spread Eagle World Championship at Attitash in Bartlett, New Hampshire.
Competitors will offer spectators lunacy as they huck off a big air jump, in their one piece day glow suits, and execute Daffys, Spread Eagles, Twisters, Backscratchers and other old school air tricks. Competitors will be judged on amplitude, enthusiasm, trick variety and attire.
"This competition is all about being true to your roots, no matter how embarrassing they might be. The days of gnarly straight airs and day glow should not be shunned upon, but celebrated by all," said the 2005 World Champion, Matt "Iceman" Berkowitz. "This year's event is shaping up to be totally tubular! I heard the big guns are coming in like: Burt McDaffy, Tommy TwoTwisters and Stevey Spreadsalot, so this will be an event that should NOT be missed. Look for many of us to be stepping up the amplitude, attitude, and trick game this year. You stay RADICAL Bartlett!"
Registration is free and will be held on the day of the event from 10:30-11:30AM in the Attitash Base Lodge. The winners name will be etched on a multiple year trophy plaque that will hang in Ptarmingan's Pub at Attitash.
Attitash is in the White Mountains of New Hampshire on Rt. 302 in Bartlett. During the winter Attitash offers 2 mountains with 70 trails and 22 miles of skiing and riding on 280 acres. In the summer guests can enjoy North America's longest Alpine Slides, waterslides, a scenic sky ride, lift-serviced mountain biking, climbing wall, Trampoline Thing, horseback rides, driving range and skate park.
