It's amazing how the Patriots keep beating the Steelers at Pittsburgh...

Is it great coaching by Bill? Or is it poor coaching by Cowher?

Whatever it is, Patriots going to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers almost seems like money in the bank...

That game seem like anything BUT money in the bank! It was true Patriots form to pull off a last second FG to win, but there many times during the game (interceptions, fumbles) that I thought they weren't going to make it!

And yet, that winning streak is something else.

The game didn't look like a sure thing to me, and if I remember correctly didn't the Steelers beat up on the Pats in Pittsburgh during regular season last year?

It was a good game though. Go Pats! :D

the score was no indication of how dominant the Pats were in the game. They physically beat up the "tough" steelers and dominated time of possesion and seemed to move the ball at will while stiffling the steeler's ground game.

I thought the Patriots out-played the Steelers on both sides of the ball...and that a second half come-from-behind victory was in the cards...except for the pass interfernce penalty on 4th & 11, I felt the Patriots had the game under control...good thing Brady is calm & cool under pressure getting the team up the field and ready for Adam to boot one through...They showed how a champion plays against a wanna-be...

Ever since the Steelers coach used that line about the Steelers beating themselves...back in '01, I've hated the guy. He could never admit that the Patriots were the better team. ...not a very gracious person. I think in four years they've only beat the Patriots once...something like that.

The Stillers should have had the game put away in the first half, but they shot themselves in the foot. STUPID play by Hines Ward. You can't let NE hang around, because they WILL turn it on in the fourth.
Brian is correct, the Stillers beat them at the ketchup factory last year by getting out to a big lead early on.

Yes, it was the Steelers that ended their winning streak last year, actually.

Bastards.

Am I the only one who is actually afriad watching Bill Cowher, even only on TV? I'm just trying to figure out who he's going to strangle with his bare hands every game I see him coach.

Sooner or later his face is just going to explode.

Very true. Other than the fluky 85-yard TD in the 1st quarter and the gimme TD in the 4th, the Steelers didn't do crap. Big Ben had 5 or 6 completions through 3 quarters and their running game had 55 yards total.
Even with four injuried secondary guys and an all-rookie left side of the O-line, and two fluke red-zone turnovers, the Patriots beat up Pittsburgh all day.

I think that stupid lateral pass that resulted in a fumble is what gave the Pats new life. If they had held onto the ball and ran with a new set of downs from the 5, the game would have been over. The Patriots should have lost that game if you consider all of the senseless penalties and the turnovers.

What gave them the edge was all of the pressure generated by the front 4-6 guys on defense. Big Ben eventually cracked under the pressure. Anyone else see the stone-faced expression from Willie McGinest after Harrsion went down? His face just seemed to say "Willie mad.... Willie real mad.... Nobody's taking down my Rodney and getting away with it." I think that incident really fired up McGinest and Seymour, and they were in Ben's face the rest of the game. They really manhandled Pittsburgh's front 5. Tossed them around like ragdolls.

It was a sloppy win, but a W is a W.

I'd need more than $100,000 a game to fight with McGinest or Seymour all day long over a football game...

Brady 12 of 12 for 168 yards in the fourth quarter - unbelievable

I had ZERO doubt that when the game was tied with 1:21 to go that we'd win it in regulation.

Very odd the 52 second mishap in the fourth though. I hear plenty of Steelers fans cry foul over that and though I'm not saying they don't have reason to be upset, one could make the same arguement that they might not have tied the game without that time as well - there would have been a lot more pressure on Big Ben than the Pats D-Line with so little time on the clock.

Re: The clock f-up. I buy Bill's explanation that their play calling is directly tied to the time remaining. They runs plays X, Y, and Z based on the current situation - current score, field position, current roster, time reminaing, etc. I could see the Steeler's fans argument if it happened inside of 2 minutes to go, but with most of the quarter remaining, I don't buy it. That would be like us saying the game wouldn't have been close if Harrison and Light didn't leave the game.
