Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Jersey - Long-Sleeve - Men's
Pearl Izumi's new Elite Thermal Long Sleeve Jersey was developed with the main objective of keeping your core body temperature regulated throughout your longest cool- and cold-weather rides. Pearl Izumi accomplished this using its advanced fabric technology, which works in conjunction with the streamlined fit to provide you with the ultimate in upper-body support and overall comfort.
The Elite Thermal Fleece fabric used to construct the jersey is an effective blend of Pearl Izumi's Transfer and Thermal fabrics. The proven Transfer material is known for its exceptional moisture management, which works by pulling sweat from your skin to the quick-drying outer-surface of the fabric. This material earned its reputation of setting the standard for moisture management fabrics, largely because it's the foundation for the breathable, wicking fabrics used in the majority of Pearl Izumi's jerseys. A lightweight thermal fleece material was then blended with the Transfer, providing just the right amount of insulating protection throughout the torso and sleeves. Together, these materials work as a system to keep you warm, dry, and comfortable during your early and late season rides.
The engineered-elasticity in the jersey's fabric panels, along with the anatomic sleeve construction, allow the Elite Thermal to follow your movements in the saddle. This means that the fit is free from any bunching, pinching, or chafing while in the cycling position. Pearl Izumi calls this its 'form fit,' which is cut to closely follow the contours of your body. Combined with the anatomic cut and elastic Elite Thermal fabric, the smooth flatlock stitching used to join the panels further reduces any friction at the seams.
To secure this fit, and to prevent the jersey from shifting while riding, Pearl Izumi placed elasticized grippers at the cuffs and drop-tail hem. This treatment at the back prevents the jersey from sagging when its three rear pockets are loaded with your riding essentials. A fourth sweat-proof pocket was also added in order to keep your electronics safe from moisture and accessible. You'll also find a full-length front zipper that was designed with an internal draft flap to seal in body warmth. Reflective elements finish off the Elite Thermal, which were placed throughout the jersey to increase your visibility to motorists in low-light riding conditions.
