Figured I'de beat the crowds at Platt and ..I did. Conditions where groomed frozen 'granular' of differerent consistancy depending on what run you where on. 5 degrees in the morning.. The main face was in pretty good shape, as well as Blockbuster. now that they make snow on Block its not the mess it used to be. Spent the day running around with the ski patrol and skiing as fast as possible..they like to bomb..every run. Helped out with a few rescues..and called it a day. minimal crowds as usual..went over to Hunter to spend the night at the Forrester. had dinner with the GF..who lodges very well these days with me..she does not ski...dinner was great, a new place called the Last Chance on 23...300 beers, cheese, good food, and chocolate...I will be eating here more often..where else can you get a Chimay Blue for $8.00...and Tito's vodka for $5.00 a shot...
Hunter...they picked up 3 inches and probably another inch during the day..Plattekill reported 6 inches which will help them out. Got out at 8:30 for some first tracks down all the usual suspects. the frozen base made its appearance quickly. Got first tracks ..with a horde of others down Wayout..then Clairs which got skied off quickly but was good for several runs...Anna was closed as they had not touched it since the freeze...WTF?? Crowds where pretty minimal as I suspect many headed home due to the storm..why I have no idea..it wasn't much of a storm. Spent the rest of the day blasting around..a lot on Racers which was in good shape...brought my Sultans which can grip on anything...called it a day about 1:30 as I got bored making laps on what was getting very skied off runs..but it was a good day..I like variable conditions, makes it interesting...

F! We left Plattekill yesterday around 2:30, they did get 6", and I was thinking of giving you a call to see if you want to meet up at the last Chance  . I am 100% serious. I'm getting a new floor put in my kitchen, so couldn't eat at home, and figured we could plan a Tux trip. But then I decided against it figuring you would be skiing until the end of the day.

Hitting Plattekill tomorrow and wondering what kind of shape the bumps on Plunge are in? What direction does the trail face and will the morning sun soften things up?
