I just wanted to share the euphoric feeling I got as I put the last pool cover fastener in its place last weekend. I think I associate closing the pool with official declaration of "Winter is Coming", like putting the lid on the freaking summer, the heat and the bugs. That and keeping pools running is a major pain in the butt. Anyone else get the same feeling when they close theirs?

Yes I do. I did swim in mine yesterday 62F. I close it Columbus day weekend. It is alot of work, but the late season days like yesterday are great. Yard does looks better without the cover on it.

We swam in ours over the weekend; this is the first time in a few years that we've been in past labor day. We'll keep ours open until Columbus Day as well; it's a pain but you never know when an Indian Summer will creep up. I tell everyone that I really have no use for Spring or Fall; it should be cold enough to ski or warm enough to swim; the in-between doesn't interest me.

I just wrote the check for this year's seasonal ski school for the three kids....a sure sign that winter is on its way (and my checking account is on its way down)!

Ya I'm nuts. Stomach Doc. Loon said a few weeks more to us. I did get a $400 credit in the mail cause my son broke his shoulder in the program last year, but ready to sifn them up. This weekend is the big Waterville race or season program thing Ski fanatics said I think. Wbbts something like that.

Yes, there is a BBTS road race (BBTS is the racing program....kudos to any A-Z'er who knows what BBTS stands for) this weekend. They also have a ski swap on Columbus Day weekend (I'm working, unfortunately).

All three kids need new skis.......Oh, Boy!

I have bought myself a new pair of skis and bindings, my son a new snowboard and boots, my wife new skis an bindings, waiting on boots for my daughter and bindings for my son. Tried to spread the cost out a bit. I went to see the swap last year. Good luck on the swap. I'll be in the area. Maybe I'll stop by after doing the Loon October fest. No clue on what the letters mean.
