That said, I had a similar incident on Saturday, so I share your pain. (However, I managed to A: Not fall B: Not Get hit by the chair and C: Not stop the lift. )

without a doubt the stupidest and most unnecessary piece of ski industry 'technology'. Looking for some good ideas on how to monkey-wrench these things.

I guess I should install some punji sticks in the conveyor pit at Seven Brothers.

If you think loading conveyors are stupid you'll really love loading a lift with a broken loading conveyor.

Yeah, just watched the video again, it definitely doesn't say it's going to dump you into the conveyor early and then sideswipe you with the chair

The chair in that video looks like it is running pretty slowly. The ones at Alta and Sugarloaf move right along.

Ah, so Nick was the cause of the stoppage, I thought I was going to get evacuated for the second time. I think I'd rather do that, than nearly stabbing the lifty in the balls with my pole as I did at Elk. I hopped off the loading area onto the planks on the side when it was apparent I had somehow left the staging area late. I instinctively stuck out my pole, poked the lifty in the thigh, three inches from his junk. I felt terrible about it all day, thank God I missed.

It was a little awkward loading the first time but not too bad, the unloading was a little more sketchy. The off ramp was a bit tight for 4 people imho.

I wouldn't have, that's for sure, I'd a played it for all it's worth...threaten a law suit, perhaps.He did mention something about me almost costing him his future children. I felt like such a gaper, how many friggin chairs have I loaded in the last fifteen years? As I say when I pass someone down, "oopsie".

I was there at Elk Mountain. Cornhead, thought the old double chairlift was going slower than it actually was and he kinda misjudged and tried to scoot in front of the chair but he was too late and leaped out of the way onto the planks on the side with his pole out, just missing skewering the lift attendant... I was going to ride up with him, but saw that we were too late for that chair so I stayed back.

However: Upon loading after that run the next time, Cornhead said to me, "You lead the way onto the lift this time... so I went to the left side to load and he also tried to load on the left side, saw me over there and took evasive action and ended up loosing his balance being forced to go to the right side loading unexpectedly and went over into the side planks AGAIN but this time he didn't come as close to skewering the liftie... so whoops, I blew that as Cornhead meant for me to load on the right side so he would be on the left side isolated from the liftie he had almost just previously skewered... oh well, be alert and be safe.
