Spring Skiing
Terriffic day out in the sun. Got to the mountain with my wife around 10. Snagged a decent spot in lot 4 in front of the quagmire. Rode the six pack for a couple of hours. During the first hour the snow on Ridge, Crew Cut and Chutes held out OK except at the intersections. Raggae Glades was still a little overly firm at this point.
Headed over to Spear Mountain after that. (Soaking up the sun on a slow triple ain't so bad on a warm bluebird day.) Cardigan was surprisingly manky. But race training ended and Flying Yankee opened up. Snow was still untracked and unslushy in the shadows making for a terrific series of GS runs.
Left my wife to have fun on Flying Yankee and took a run down showboat, the ungroomed was hurting from too much sun, the groomed section skiied fine. Had a trip through the woods after that. The right combination of warming and shade made that a good choice.
My next choice was a good one too. That was heading over to the patio for $3 harpoons!
