Although it would be cheaper, Ragged seems to be committed with a high speed. And hey, I fine with that!

I think Ragged's clientele and employees are more committed than their ownership. Like I've said, every year I hear the new Spear HSQ is coming next season and there's always some excuse why I didn't happen. I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh at the bottom of the trail? The top of the trail has snowmaking on the right side. If they open the whole trail up at the bottom, it would be nice since all the glades dump out right there.
Even an 8 minute ride is too long for spear mountain. I'd rather see them eventually get a high speed. Apparently they've been working with Doplymyer.

I like the ungroomed side. My biggest complaint is the berm between the eight feet of manmade and natural down the middle of double fall line. Ragged used to brag about that double fall line - now they obliterate it.

That my beef with Ragged as well - the current triple is slow as molasses on a cold day. Add the HSQ and that opens up that side where there are more interesting trails. Not sure what to make of the Pinnicle Peak trails they plan to open.

I am hoping they put some thought into the pinicle trails, I hope they don't just cut straight down the mountain and call it a day.

I would look at Jordan Bowl at Sunday River as a model of good design. NO CROSSOVER trails. Top to Bottom individual trails is such a nicer experience than having trails carved up into Uppers, Middles and Lowers etc.

Doesn't look like that's what will happen though. Looks like they have a planned full mountain traverse trail all the way from the summit of Ragged proper to where all the real estate is planned. I guess I can appreciate wanting to offer all the future homeowners a way back home from 2/3rds of the mountain, but I'd rather see that traverse stop at the Pinnacle Lift Line and have a couple uninterrupted top to bottom runs skiers right off the Pinnacle summit.

They will never have all those condos that far up the mountain, it would ruin the resort and there isn't enough people for all of that.
That isn't the official design, nothing is 100% on design yet.

+ 1. I think a lot of places are trying the EB-5 route...but Jay is the king of it. I wonder if the whole Tea Party debt ceiling fiasco will deter EB-5 investors now.

I honestly doubt it. I bet most investors understand it's posturing and that the US is still a pretty good investment globally despite how insane things can seem within our borders watching our media.

You're right and just like I'll believe the Spear Chair when I see it, I'll believe the real estate development when I see it. The plan calls for something like 800 residential units. Not ONE has been built.

IMO the real estate development should start with a Timeshare Hotel facility with function space, a spa, retail etc., essentially where the snowmaking pond is now. Establish a resort core and branch out from there with condos and single family home sites. It would be expensive to relocate the snowmaking pond elsewhere, but I think that's the right location to establish a resort base.

cool

In addition to the new glads:correct me if I'm wrong, but Pel's Pass and Karen's Dream have not been on the trail map the past five years despite having the signage on the mountain yes? Not that those trails are any secret.

Hope we have another good year in Central NH like last year. When the glades are skiing well, Ragged is a damn fun mountain.

Yeah, I've never understood that. Maybe they're springing for new signs? I hope these open earlier than later. Snowmonster's B3's need to tear this up!
