Recon Instruments' Android-powered HUD will be on display at the Android stand -- Hall 8 AC25

VANCOUVER - February 24, 2012 - Recon Instruments, who last week added a Fresh Technology Award at Distree EMEA to a list of accolades for their patented Heads-up Display (HUD) technology for action sport athletes, will be on display at the Android stand at the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The company will be demoing their Android-powered MOD Live HUD and was chosen based on its current success in the snowsports industry, the recent SDK announcement and Recon's HQ Mobile app for Android-powered devices.

Just last month at CES 2012 Recon announced plans for an SDK for the new HUD product category, a category Recon created. The Android-powered MOD Live provides application developers with a unique opportunity to decide how and what data and media skiers and riders capture, share and play while on the mountain. Recon is currently working with partners like Polar and Contour, to develop the first third party applications.

Users that sync their MOD Live with smartphones via Recon's free HQ Mobile app can also access playlists on their phone, view and share run stats, and see incoming calls on MOD Live's unobtrusive display. MOD Live even utilizes SMS relay technology to display text messages, and users can reply via MOD Live's wearable wireless Bluetooth low energy remote.

Dan Eisenhardt, CEO of Recon Instruments said "We are happy to be at the Mobile World Congress with Google at the Android stand. It is a great opportunity to show the diversity and customizable nature of our Android-powered MOD Live. Our HUD technology is currently available to snowsports enthusiasts and we will be bringing an adapted HUD solution into a number of different industries in the near future partnering with leading goggle, helmet and sunglasses brands to provide the optimum choice of fit, function and fashion to the public."
