Santini Active Air Jacket

BK.jpg

Santini's always been at the forefront in terms of innovative apparel styling and functionality, and its designers have now taken these characteristics a step further with their new winter collection. The Active Air Jacket stands in at the top this line, as it embodies the signature fit and looks of Santini's technical jackets, but it also incorporates an all-new ventilation system that intuitively works with you as you ride.
Starting with the construction, the Active Air was made from a blend of Santini's flexible and lightly insulated polyester materials. These fabrics are lightweight and breathable, which effectively work to pull moisture away from your skin and the layers underneath, depositing it on the outer-surface for evaporation. The panels of the Active Air were strategically cut and joined in a way that mimics your body's motions in the saddle, ensuring that the jacket remains firmly in place as you ride.
Looking at the front of the Active Air, you'll notice that the individual panels have been joined in a fashion similar to Santini's other technical softshell riding jackets. When you look at the rear paneling, however, you'll notice the new ventilation design known as the Active Air Intake system. On the right and left sides of the rear panel - up near your lat/underarm zones - you'll find slits in the fabric reminiscent of a fish's gills. These are actually overlapping vents that have been designed to open and close in accordance to your riding position. According to Santini, the vents pull closed when you're hunched over in the drops, but they open up when you are sitting in more of an upright (think climbing) position.
Santini finished off the Active Air with a drop-tail hem and two rear cargo pockets. A full-length zipper was added to the front, and light elastic treatments were applied to the cuffs and hem.
The Santini Active Air Jacket is available in six sizes from Small to XXX-Large and in the colors Black and White.
