I don't know if anyone else has done this already, but I thought it'd be an interesting comparison for those trying to figure out which season pass to get. (I'm personally in that process right now.) This deals with three big multi-mountain (3 plus mountains) passes available in New England for 07/08. I compared Price/Acre as well as Price/Vertical Feet.

This comparison is for passes WITHOUT Black Out dates:

NOR'EASTER: Mt Snw/Atttsh/Crtchd/Jck Frst/Bg Bldr
$749 / 1099 Total Acres => $0.68/Acre
$749 / 5541 Total Vertical Feet => $0.14/VF

**I also ran the numbers leaving Jck Frst/Bg Bldr out. Seriously, how many New Englanders are going to drive down to PA to ski/board? (Sorry JF and BB.)**
Mt Snw/Atttsh/Crtchd
$749 / 944 Total Acres => $0.79/Acre
$749 / 4466 Total Vertical Feet => $0.17/VF
-----------------------------------
ULTRA: Strttn/Okmo/Mt Snpee/Crstd Btt
$1199 / 2630 Total Acres => $0.46/Acre
$1199 / 8503 Total Vertical Feet => $0.14/VF

**I also ran the numbers leaving Crstd Btt out. There is more incentive to go out to Colorado, but I did this to be fair since I left JF and BB out above.**
Strttn/Okmo/Mt Snpee
$1199 / 1440 Total Acres => $0.83/Acre
$1199 / 5716 Total Vertical Feet => $0.21/VF
------------------------------------
3DOM ANYTIME: Loon/Wtrvll/Crnmr (Includes 40 Acres for Loon South Peak expansion.)
$749 / 763 Total Acres => $0.98/Acre
$749 / 5293 Total Vertical Feet => $0.14/VF
**********************************************************
This comparison deals with the next level down of season passes WITH Black Out dates within the same three groups. This is not as clear cut since the number of B.O. dates is not the same.

VALUE: Strttn/Okmo/Mt Snpee (17 Black Out dates)
$549 / 1440 Total Acres => $0.38/Acre
$549 / 5716 Total Vertical Feet => $0.10/VF

3DOM LIMITED: Loon/Wtrvll/Crnmr (19 Black Out dates)(Includes 40 Acres for Loon South Peak expansion.)
$599 / 763 Total Acres => $0.79/Acre
$599 / 5293 Total Vertical Feet => $0.11/VF

Mt Snw/Atttsh/Crtchd/Jck Frst/Bg Bldr did not have a comparable pass.
**********************************************************
Pass prices are the current early-bird prices that will go up at some point this Spring. There are more levels to each group of passes but those comparisons just weren't similar enough to list. Plus, there are additional benefits that go with each pass but too many to break down in a thread that has become quite lengthy already. The Acre/Vertical Feet stats were taken from skireport.com.

I really hope I didn't make any mistakes with my math or stats because I would be quite embarrassed since this is my first post.

Welcome noonan, but bigger vert/more acreage mountains aren't always better...
