Adding to the network out back slowly. Been working on a couple hundred foot section to bypass a boring steep road climb with flowy switchbacks....got about 15 hours in and the first half is ready to ride......

Awesome work JD!

Even though this is my first year of riding I've found (obviously) that riding the trails is a ton of fun and maintaining/building them is rewarding too, but riding something that you've contributed your handy work too is simply an amazing experience from a bunch of different perspectives.

Keep up the good work!

I agree. To build something, then have it ride exactly like you wanted it to is tough to do. It's rare I pick the right line the first time. Ussually when I go to ride it for the first time it's way too tight and the turns are too sharp. It's hard for me to visualize how fast you'll actually be coming in to the features you create. This one actually rides pretty good. One more long bermed turn, some 50 feet of bench cutting and a few more saplings and branches to trim. Thne I need to fill a little stream bed crossing with gravel and maybe one more slate kicker so you can air into the stream bed and pump it. My goal is to create trail that you can ride w/o pedaling or braking, and climbs really nice w/o blowing up the average person's cardio. Always looking to work the terrain like a pump track to get that squirt down the trail w/o having to pedal. I will have to make a better landing transition to make the most of that air, but I wanted to hit it a few times to see where it needed to be. By then end of the year (december) hopefully finish this and one other piece of single track that will complete a goodish 5 mile loop from the ski area in town, out onto Paine Mtn, and back, descending the DH MTB trails cut in the old ski area as the last run out. Probably 40 hours of work left...
