1. CLEAN
2. Good powerful shower- nothing like an awesome hot shower after a day skiing
3. Value- I don't demand cheap - I just demand value.
4. No pretense. I like ski hotels where people are there to ski, relax and eat. I don't like places where the guests are too cool for school.

A public computer in the lobby with internet access is a huge plus on ski trips for checking weather and posting daily trip reports..

Cheap, quiet, clean.

Emphasis on quiet.....

I had an experience years ago where I drove up to Glens Falls, NY, to ski Gore the next day. So happens it was the weekend of the NY State HS basketball championship at the arena in Glens Falls. Place was mobbed.

3:00AM I get some shlub pounding on the door to my room, demanding to come in. Turns out the guy was so drunk he didn't know which room was his. Unable to convince him he had the wrong room, I called thew desk to report my problem. Eventually he went away/quieted down.

Next morning I'm leaving at 7AM after my interrupted night's sleep, and here is the drunk passed out in an alcove for a soda machine outside my room.

The sleepus-interuptus made for a tough day on the hill.

I've had the Bob Dylan song Shelter From The Storm in my head for 24 hours..

Makes me think of a different Dylan song from the same album...."Idiot Wind

A decent bed! Nothing worse than waking up feeling like crap. Enough room to move around in. We stayed in a room at Squaw that was so small my friend had to put his clothes in the kitchen cabinets, in the pots and pans! Chaminox was no better. The minute you walked in the room you hit the bed. A twin I believe.
Owning time share points, it's a mixed bag. One trip you are in a place that can sleep ten, the next barely two. But if it pukes all week, then nothing else matters.

I can barely sleep half the time and am always chugging water. Winter Park was the worst, the hotel was so high up.

Plus you get high altitude farts..aka..Bozeman Barking spiders..I'm still deciding whether to cough up the extra money and stay in Teton Village vs the town of Jackson in January. My past 4 trips I stayed at the Antler Inn but the 30 minute bus ride was starting to get old..nothing like booting up and walking right to the lift..
