Sidi Wire Vent LTD Men's Shoes

The Wire Vent LTDs use Sidi's Tecno 3 buckle, which uses two different ratcheting dials for a customizable fit at the instep and forefoot. The dials work like quick-release wheel skewers. To tighten the wire, open the lever and turn the dial. Pinching two release buttons on either side of the dial loosens them. The Tecno 3 system is low-profile and tidier than the old ratcheting buckle with two hook-and-loop straps, and it also allows for an even greater degree of micro adjustability and fit consistency across the entire shoe. As with all of Sidi's fastening hardware, you can fiddle with the Tecno 3 buckles in the saddle.
As the name suggests, the Wire Vent LTDs include Sidi's superlative vented carbon fiber sole. It shares the same construction method that Sidi developed with its Carbon Lite sole, yet they've taken out 38 grams in the process. Even with the weight savings, you'll get the same kind of stiffness and razor sharp power transfer you've grown to expect from Sidi, with a bit of forgiving flex for your toes. Cooling air is shuttled through interior channels by entering a vent at the toe of the shoe. The vent can be opened or closed depending on the temperature and your preferences " even in the middle of a ride.
Also returning from previous top-shelf offerings is Sidi's improved Heel Security System (or HSS) to keep your foot positively planted in the shoe. It involves a rigid, composite band that can be tightened or loosened with an hex key to adjust the amount of play you allow your heels. The shoe's tongue and instep strap have both been padded generously to allow for supreme comfort with tight buckles, so your foot is comfortably embraced from above, too. The upper is made from sparingly perforated Lorica, a synthetic microfiber that has become a staple of our cycling shoe lineup since it became a signature component of Sidi's venerable shoes.
