Have not been Taos, but from the sounds of it, it has similar qualities to Smuggs
Alta/ Snowbird eguals Platty with nataral snow being jighest in their regions .
i havent been to Powder. Sure Platty is crowed dont go their so so crowed. i mean more then it was before i start posting about tje place lol.
I meant that Powder is the more crowded place. I don't think Platty could ever get really crowded, no where to park.
I've skied Taos and really can't think of an east coast analogy. It's uniqueness comes from its isolation. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere. I mean there is other cool stuff in the area, but it's totally incongruous with skiing (desert, artist retreats, native American culture, etc). Probably the closest New England comparison I can think of is Sugarloaf.
Food is always beetter out weast......
Would Killington and Whistler be fair comps for the purposes of this thread? I realize WB is unlike anything in he East but K seemed to be the closest comparable
Sunday River is the Killington of Maine. For expansive area sure but I would compare it more towards an area who has many peaks with short lifts......fill in the blank
