Hey guys.

I'm considering putting new insoles in my ski boots. Is that common practice. The ones in them now are paper thin and compressed to hell.

Have you guys done this before? Would you advise against it? Have you tried different brands?

i've heard many people rave about liners. my son got a pair of Aline inserts when he got boots a couple of years ago. they made a huge difference to him in terms of fit and comfort.

We've always immediately thrown out the factory inserts and bought new ones. Makes a huge difference, even my daughter could see it back with she was 10. As soon as we got her new boots this year, a pair of Volcano brand inserts were put in. She loves those, very comfortable.

They are highly recommended by most. Understand, however, that they come in different shapes. Make sure you find one that fits YOUR foot arch.

my son has pronated ankles. he tried on a pair of boots and they hurt just to have them on, not even buckled. i was skeptical but the boot guy said to trust him and let him setup the Aline with the laser machine. took just a few minutes, inserted the footbed and my son said it was like a completely different boot.no pain, no pressure points.

Customs. Worth every dollar. If done right they can last a decade or more. If you do the math.....it's a no brainer.

x2. My wife and I did the customs a few years back...huge difference. And they can be transferred when you get new boots. Had ones from my old boots put into my new boots this year.

I have been using Superfeet for a couple months now and I love them. I bought them at a local store, good warranty too.

We carry A-Line, Superfeet, and Superfeet Custom Kork as well as Instaprint. Most of the time the A-Lines do the trick.

+1 for custom.

SIDAS conform'able here. Very comfortable and noticeable improvement in performance. In the beginning every ski day it took about an hour or so until my foot settles in again. Shortly after I put SIDAS in my everyday shoes that substantially improved comfort in ski boots. Luckily I did all heat-molding and forms myself otherwise 2 sets of custom insoles would cost arm and leg.

Got custom foot beds from Northern ski works on Ludlow. Plus they blew out a problem spot in my ankle area. Lifetime adjustments too?

Was a good investment for 99$ even though my boots were over 5years old. Saved my ski season as I had a west coast trip planned.

If you are thinking about doing it, just do it.
