Cooper is certainly on the travel itinerary when I start spending the winter out there. Snow has got to be great there with the elevation. About an hour ten to Copper from our place, not sure how much further on to Coop and Leadville. Supposed to be an interesting place Leadville with an old western bar which is a must see.

Very cool that he is doing a 180 of what everyone else is doing and it seems to be working. I think he goes by the handle bushmogulmaster on the AZ

it will be a great story if he continues this strategy and it continues to work. Best of luck to you Patrick!

Yes, BMM is the son. Dave is the father. I have not seen BMM on here for a while.....

They’ve also reduced prices on food. The result? More traffic and more revenue.

Vail management upon reading this, and praying to whatever God or deity they believe in this strategy isn't copied.

In all seriousness, I am not shocked at all.

Essentially it sounds like they've listened to the (significant) anger in the market and simply responded to it, making up in spades in volume whatever might be lost in price maximization. This is an extremely common business story......... just not in skiing recently. Good for them.

I also think this is a result of the super high day ticket prices at the Epic and Ikon places for those without a pass. Other places with somewhat reasonable ticket prices have seen increases as well.

That is great for the local population. BUT most people on this forum are not going to get on a plane to ski a 1200 foot ski area.

ALSO I'm not sure this relevant in the forum section lable "Northeast Ski and Snowboard Forum" ? It's not to me. This could have easily just been part of the EPIC or IKON sucks thread. Just an observation.

you also could've just skipped the thread ;)

this is just a ski forum, sure its northeast focused but when half of the active members don't live in the northeast (myself included depending on the map) then I'm game for talking about all things skiing.

Good to know that their strategy worked. I don't see anyone else pursing this, but maybe. All things do change...

Yup I could have. It was more fun for me at that particular moment to bust some balls. There is a lot of that going on around here so I figured I would get in on the action. I realize that Trailboss knew Dan in his past life but he was also showing is disdane for the big conglomerates hence my observation about the Hate threads. Carry on. I'll never ski there with all the other options in CO.

I don't know Hawk. I'm one who is currently splitting my time between eastern and western skiing. I appreciate the information from the crew out there as much as I do the information people like you provide for Sugarbush and our other eastern resorts. I have the fortune particularly this year of skiing some the best of the east and the west where I'm headed tomorrow. It's been a great season up to this point and I've enjoyed it all.

Sorry to break it to you, but the complaints department closed about 15 years ago. I'm sure that Nick would have made it a priority to create a public forum that catered only to your interests.

Even more bad news is that your mind reading skills are pretty bad. The only one showing disdain in this thread is you. I, and others, thought this was a positive story that is a change from reading about lifts failing and folks upset about long liftlines.

Sorry you are having a bad day.

Nope all good. I'm having a fine day. Snow melted out this week and I am back on the Mountian bike with the group. You don't have to be so touchy about it. You have to admit you do hate what IKON has done to your paradise though.

Yeah nice try. You initiated this tangent by bitching about how this was not related to the Northeast and then inserted what you thought was my ulterior motive. There's no discussion about IKON in this thread so you're again off base. And we don't allow trolling.

come on you guys, play nice! :p

FWIW, I Personally, i did enjoy reading this tidbit of positivity rather than some of the negative stuff. Given what is going on in our world, I'll take anything positive.

Yeah, I wanted to throw a story out there that talked about a success.
