I don't mind. I skied during the snowmaking today and there was some nice man-made powder to ski through and whales to go over. It was fun and a little ice on the jacket occasionally doesn't bother me.

Hate it. Wet or dry manmade snow, albeit a necessary evil indeed, is awful awful stuff. It lacks air and fails to grow any significant crystals to hold that air. I have never seen any type of snowgun blow "fluff". I have only seen corn meal from mix nozzles and confectioners sugar from fan guns, at best. Fluff can only, and probably will only forever be, made by God.

I just love snow. Anytype. Some types more than others. I love riding so I put up with it early in the season when we need it. What they are blowing now is fun to ride in.

Years ago I was on Lower Crossover which comes down steep and leads to a long flat runout by F Lift, so I had to get some speed on the steeps before hitting the flats. At the bottom of the steep was a surface gun blowing snow in such a way that you had to ski right next to it, but under the stream of snow. The snow was normal looking. A layer of white snow in my path next to the gun obscured the heavy wet snow just beneath it where water was leaking out of the gun.
I hit that patch at full speed and my skis just stuck to the ground. I did a double eject, flew through the air and bent one thumb back completely when I landed. By the time I made it to ski patrol my thumb was the size of a grapefruit. I still feel it to this day depending on the weather.
Darn surface gun.
