WOW!!!

Now that's some typical Tex-ass. As all of of my exs truly were from Texas, I'm so not surprised.

I don't use the word often, but I do HATE that state.

Yeah, it's commercial. Yeah it's unnatural. But I find it intriguing, if for no other reason than some kids who would not experience snow probably until much later in their lives (and only if they choose to travel somewhere with snow) will now have a chance. I know if I didn't already live somewhere that I could ski, I probably never would have due to the cost-prohibitive nature of air travel for us. The Snowball Caverns sound like a good time for families, too. :D

I just looked all over the site, and maybe I'm missing something, but I can't find an address anywhere.

Anybody able to help me out here?

There is a lot of Texas that's not too far from Ski Apache. (My one and only trip there, our rental car was the only car in lot (not counting the employee lot) that didn't have a TX plate.

Texans manage to ski a lot. I just haven't seen any that were very good.

It's going to be in Fort Worth. I don't think construction has started yet. Check the press release section.

Looks interesting, but hey if it gets more people involved in the sport that can't be a bad thing, right??

Hopefully I never need to rely on something like that to get my skiing fix in though!

Thanks.

Okay, am I just stupid ( and please base your answer solely on the arena of this thread ), or did you find that information on the website link you provided earlier?

I read it in the press release section (about a 3rd of the way in) they talk about deciding to move the project from Dallas to Fort Worth But there is also a blurb about the place in the latest Outside which is where I first heard about it.

Again, thanks.

I actually got it on my second read, but that's what I get for trying to watch the ball game, and post at the same time.

Ah well, at least I'm not freezing my balls off at Moosefest!

Glacier Peak

The Bearfire Group will transform Texas into a winter wonderland like no other. Situated on a 250 foot tall 35 acre landscaped man-made mountain structure, Glacier Peak will keep you busy for days with over a mile of multiple expert and intermediate ski runs and jumps

these people are on crack-busy for days?a mile of expert and intermediate runs? did anyone check out the photos on the right, they looked like the friggen san juans in the background. i bet they do good business though.

a good friend of mine moved to austin area, and i flew down and drove up to taos last winter (12 hours). I was very nervous having texas plates driving around new mexico-apparently there is some hostility.

bartender in taos was telling me how some townies cut the top of a texans caddilac because he double parked in the middle of main street on a holiday week and refused to move. they did this all while he was eating, and left him a nice little note. funny story-i hope he was making it up.
