Does anyone do skiing events on New Years Eve, torchlight parade, etc.?

I've never participated in it but they look pretty cool and definitely fun.

I do a torch parade every year. Followed by fireworks. always a fun time, and fireworks over a ski mountain look beautiful.

I don't do any sort of events, but I do normal skiing on that day often. The crowds thin out VERY early on NYE, a lot of people seem to get out early and disappear by the early afternoon, which makes for a nice day by holiday standards. On New Year's Day, it's basically empty the whole day, but especially before noon, there's no one on the hill.
