Drat - I'll have pictures from the summit of Katahdin that day, but won't be back into the realm of civilization until sometime on Monday.

I guess it's only fair - the skiing will only be along the road, not the actual ascent or descent.
:)

Sorry I missed this. Been just exceedingly busy with life and work. But perhaps it's best.

This would have been my entry.

Bummer...

I would have entered had I been online over the weekend. Here's what I would have sent in:

Hope that works. It's from my Whistler trip looking towards Sun Bowl.

DQed...

I figured as much but I wanted to show off. ;)

But seriously, Whistler-Blackcomb is an awesome place to go. I was there when they didn't have as much snow as usual and it was still awesome. I can't say enough about the terrain and the views.Unfortunately, you don't always get these kinds of views. It gets clouded in quite frequently. I just like this picture because you have the clouds and the view of the mountains. I thought it was a cool pic.

I do have one complaint about them (Intrawest), however, they did absolutely nothing for me as a visiting patroller. Ok, I'm picking nits here but you'd think they would have, at least, discounted the price of my lift tickets! Although, it's not like the tickets are expensive there. I think it was something like $48 Canadian for a one day ticket. It might have been a little more but it wasn't much more. Quite a bargain when you figure in the exchange rate!

I'm hoping to head back there for next season. I'll probably be getting a group together. Maybe we can get some people from AZ there.

The rangers let you ski Katahdin?
Me and a bud . drove up there many moons ago (late 70's) to lay down some turns and the NPS Ranger told us" If you take thoes skis off of your VW bus, I arrest you"
So we did not tell him about our bong...good thing eh?

Not ski the mountain itself, but Greg didn't specify... :D

The plan was to ski up the Tote Road from Abol Bridge to Abol Campground, then hike up Abol Slide. The trip didn't end up happening - see my "Redington" hiking trip report.
