Unofficial Networks just released a story regarding the SIA's latest RetailTRAK report, that shows terrible retail sales for ski gear and clothing, particularly in the Northeast.

The SIA's report is available here: http://www.snowsports.org/Suppliers...ssReleases/PressReleaseDetail/contentid/1935/

Despite the bad overall numbers, there are some interesting trends that the SIA and UN note, including strong sales for flat skis that are over 80mm waist width, twin tip skis, and reverse camber skis.

Might be some good close-outs soon ...

That's my thought as well, but from what I have been hearing manufacturers made less skis to counter the negative economy and to not get stuck. So there may be some deals, but they won't be as good.

As to outerwear, hell yeah there have been some great deals.

definitely seemed easier 5 years ago to find closeouts on in the wrapper two year old model skis for dirt cheap than what you can find today. It would appear that manufacturers are running with much tighter inventories.
