Visiting at my son's place in Leadville. Skied yesterday at Monarch and today at Ski Cooper. Old school double chairs, no crowds, especially considering it's vacation week. Laid back vibe at both. Monarch was a little hard pack while SkiCooper had nearly a foot of fresh. Tomorrow we're headed for Copper for what looks like an epic powder day. Only problem is driving is horrific and our Saturday flight out of Denver is a crap shoot.

I passed cooper while aimlessly driving around when I was out there. Looked like my kind of place..as in deserted.

I skied there in December of 1988 and while that was a long time ago, I still remember it for the laid back and uncrowded atmosphere. I also remember snow as high as our car on Tennessee Pass
