Gloating over one win? I suppose you have to do that when your team has only won 6 world series in 10 appearances. ;)

BeanoNYC I edit very few post. Watch your a-- get sent down the road:angry:  . How bout them Jets?

It's funny .... TB, YardSaleDad and I were just discussing this rivalry in NYC. We agreed that the Sox fans are certainly more fanatical.

Well, but the Sox were behind the Yanks. The recent slump is not something to be :D about.

Hey Chile...true it's fabulous to read a New York paper with that story. I think I'll chisel this into my headstone:

"Sharp RBI singles up the middle and David Ortiz home runs forever will remind the Bombers of their historic collapse in the 2004 ALCS"

I can now watch that Bill Buckner clip without cringing. Besides, it doesn't get much play anymore. It's been replaced by Dave Robert's clip stealing second. Everthing after that is pure gravy.

re: Paplebon...E Frickin Gad, he was throwing gas.

Lastly, Thanks Sox Mgt for getting Doug M back in uniform! So we went in a round about way to grab Mark "Jump Back" Loretta, who by the way seems to love playing key roles in late innings @ Fenway.

I don't get this talk about the New York Press. Since when have they been easy on their teams? Do the papers in Boston not do the same when they lose?

Wake me up when the season is 3/4 over...then we'll see who's for real and who isn't.

Are you kidding? Edgar Renteria (sp?)...aka Rent a Wreck, Diahria, etc... Kevin Millar was beaten up pretty bad last year. Mark Belhorn took a beating. Wells got boo'd on his last start. Sox fans eat their young pal.

It's just seeing the phrase "historic collapse" and it NOT being associated with the 86 Sox and the frickin Billy Buckner clip..."Buckner boots it!!!" *shudder*

So it's not (for me) so much that it's the Yankees....more so that it's NOT the Sox. Hey, it's a very long season.

Alright .... I was thinking that there was a perception that our papers don't kill our losing teams.

No - not at all. I'm thinking the same thing Sky is - it's great when the Daily News, Post and Newsday have to print the same nasty stuff about the Yanks that the Globe/Herald have been printing about the Sox for all these years. "Historic collapse" indeed!!!

I love this rivalry.......

Tonite's game rained out - it's the only thing that kept the Sox from smacking the Yanks around again.......;-)

re: goooood baseball...And both theams alre playing pretty well. Beckett vs Johnson? I thought Schilling was due to pitch. So I'm confused...Beckett, then Schilling, then Wakefield?

We jusd saw Lenny Dinardo (#5).

Yep, good baseball on tap.
