The Montreal public-school system’s annual winter break, which this year is the week of March 4, is a time when many families try to organize some sort of recreational getaway.
Skiing and tubing day trips are popular, but hills in the Laurentians and Eastern Townships can be crowded that week. That’s why some families look at possibilities south of the border, as Vermont and New York do not have school breaks that coincide with ours. Lineups – on major ski hills especially – are consequently a lot shorter
