How is that venue at Bethel Woods? I'm thinking of seeing the Allmans there 8/12.

GO!!!! Its by far my favorite "shed"... Probabaly closer to you then PNC too...

Blows away PNC, SPAC, Camden,etc...

Brand new.... Walk around with beers... Nice people... Hang out in the field where the original Woodstock concert was.... Go to the 60's museum..

I'm sure it's much closer that PNC. From what I understand, it's similar to a place out in the Poconos I went to last summer to see Lucinda, Mountain Laurel Center. Had a great conversation with Charlie Louvan, the opening act, over a beer in the concession area between acts. :)

I'd guess I've been to hundreds, if not thousand something shows in last 35+ years, but have never been to Garden State Arts Center/PNC. *shrug*

GSAC... Seen tons of shows there... Not recently...

But Bethel blows them all away...

WOW!, the original Woodstock concert wasn't in Woodstock NY? The tourists coming here seem to think so! "Excuse me, could you tell me where the field where the concert is?" I tell them it's off of Rock City Road, but it's now the cemetery. Then they go looking for it!

I have seen 'The Dan" numerous times as well as Fagan solo. IMHO, Aja and The Nightfly are two of the best albums ever produced.

I saw Steely Dan back around 95ish??? Shortly after they first started touring again, which I couldn't believe as it had been what? 18-20 years since they had performed live when they got back at it?

AMAZING show

That was at Great Woods, which USED to be a great Shed style venue. Now, not so much. Since then they've covered half the lawn with conventional seating only leaving a strip of grass up top; don't open the gates (so I'm told, haven't gone because of the latter in years) until 3PM before the show when the gates used to open at 8AM (this new policy results in massive traffic and people not being able to get into the show on time), parking used to be free now it's I think twenty bucks, they kick people out of the lot as quick as possible following the performance, heavily police the lot for tailgating prior to the show when it used to be a big ole party. It would take Garcia rising from the Dead for me to go back there, which is unfortunate as the place used to rule. Saw MANY great shows there in the early - mid 90's.

Last 'Shed' I went to was in Atlanta for what has since been the final 'Dead' show. I think it was sponsored by Verizon, and though the security were dicks, the venue ruled.

....maybe someday I'll head over to Bethel Woods. Heard nothing but great things about the place.

Saw the Grateful Dead at Shoreline in CA - that's a pretty cool "shed".. Pretty sure it was built on a dump.. :)

Other favorite sheds include MerriWeather Post and Blossom in Ohio.. All

The GD took me to a lot of "Sheds"... ;)
