It's been a good five years since I went to Stratton and whats the deal with food there. I know there is Grizzly's but what about other options that are not in the "village". All I usually want is a nice chicken cesaer salad with soup or chili. Is it just worth it to bring some food and stash it in a locker? I usually do that going to Snow and stop at the Vermont Country Deli and get a sandwich there I have even stopped at Hannafords in Brattleboro to get a pre made deli sub. Any thoughts would be appreciated and yes I know it's Flatton but it's free and all I care about now is carving turns anywhere

the chicken ceasar salad might be a tough find but...

there are some decent offerings at the mid-mountain lodge (aka Aunt Chalada's) such as the chili, chowder and the quesadillia; if they're running the BBQ outside of it I recommend the pulled pork sandwhich.

also there's a lodge at the Sun Bowl base area that's nothing special but they make deli sandwhiches that would be better than a pre-made sub. There's also a bar upstairs for those looking for an adult beverage.

I would try to avoid the main base area for lunch as it gets hectic.

Sun Bowl base area won't be open this early in the season. They open that area of the mountain up last after all other trails/major terrain pods have opened. Sun Bowl may not open until Christmas or later.

I would love to but, this Friday is one of my only chances to go midweek all season. I start a new job on Monday (my old closed down abruptly last Friday after I had given notice) and I hate going on the weekends to most ski areas. I have not been out in over 3 years and since i got a freebie I am going no matter what. But thanks for invite but my jones meter is broken right now and I need my skiing fix :p
