Pretty good 2 days. Sugarloaf on Tuesday was really slick in the morning, with poor visibility. King Pine, Spillway East, and the Timberline lifts were on hold due to, I believe, icing from the rain from the past couple of days. It wasn't cold though.

Here's Skidder. It looked nice but hard as a rock

Took a weird fall; wacked the back of my head and hurt my butt (don't even know how I managed that). I had lunch at The Bag. It was close to 2 when I stpped out and the sun finally won out.

The King Pine chair started spinning and Haulback was the TOTD

Met a buddy at Saddleback the next day and it looked to be a windfest when we got there. The new quad on far skiers right was down all day limiting our options. The snow was loose granular and skied pretty damn nice.

Visibility at the very top was bad all day. You skied out of it quick, though

Peachy's Peril. Bumped up and very firm. Perilous, indeed

Top of Green Weaver. What a great cruiser

I didn't take a pic but we took the Intimidator Glade was extremely firm. Jane Craig and Grey Ghost skied awesome.

In Rangeley I stayed at a place called The Farmhouse. Good ski/stay package and very nice folks. I highly recommend it.

Great Report and Pics! Thanks for sharing. Too bad it didn't warm up a bit more for you. I guess the rope on the upper quad has "lost its tension" a bit and is only going to run weekends the last couple of weeks. It will be adjusted in the off-season. There is something about it on the lifts page on the saddlebackmaine.com web site.

Hoping to head up to the 'back Sunday... maybe just maybe some of this rain forecast this week will be snow higher. Here is to hoping anyway.

Took a weird fall; wacked the back of my head and hurt my butt (don't even know how I managed that).

I did this on ice skates at the local rink a few months ago. I was coming to a stop and nearly standing still when my feet went out from under me and I fell straight back. If I hadn't been wearing my ski helmet I'm quite sure I would've suffered a concussion, or worse ... I scared the bejesus out of my son and another guy who saw me fall and heard the apparently very loud crack of my helmet hitting the ice. No protection for my ass though ... and for a while that hurt even more (until I got a mild headache later that day and stiff neck the next). Very strange.
