The Sugoi RS Pro Bib Knickers are designed for days when the temperature demands clothing somewhere between tissue-thin summer kit and fleece-lined, full-coverage winter kit. With both fall and spring falling between these two extremes, there is obviously a large chunk of the year for which these knickers are appropriate. They give just enough coverage to get you out in chilly conditions, but ventilate well enough that you won't overheat and your body can breathe comfortably after you warm up.
The Pro Bib Knickers are built using Sugoi's Ultra Aero material, which is dimpled to accommodate airflow across its surface so your legs, between hips and knees, benefit from increased aerodynamics. (Your shins are on their own.) The fabric is also compressive, which helps to stabilize your muscles and reduce fatigue during long training rides in the early spring while you're frantically trying to accumulate the base miles that you put off in January and February.
For the most crucial contact point with the bike, the knickers incorporate Sugoi's flagship chamois, the Formula FX. This includes perforations for ventilation, a seamless surface, and V-control pads to dampen road noise that filters up through the saddle. Four-way stretch side panels conform to your body and move with you, rather than against you. The strategically appointed topography of varying thicknesses in the foam is designed to manage contact and weight distribution to protect sensitive areas and maintain ventilation.
