Has anyone any experience of the Learn to Ski program at Sunday River? We are a family with 2 teenagers aged 13 & 16 and would like the 4 of us to go on the program. The only problem is that the website states the minimum age of 15. How strict are they regarding ages?
Also, can anyone recommend any vacation homes to rent in this area?

Thanks

Hilary

Although not familar with SR's programs I am sure that it is just an age grouping thing and the program for 13 yo's are just named different. You want to be in seperate groups anyway as you will learn more and have more fun without the family dynamics interfering with the experience.

I took lessons at SR in 2004...but not in this promo. I can say that SR has a great school....and that their terrain and facilities are ideal for beginners and intermediates.

For info on rental homes, I'd PM Bob R.

In regards to the minimum age of 15, that is simply the age that dictates adult or junior pricing, not the age that we will or will not teach to ski. You are more than welcome to stick together as a family. The vacation home question would depend highly on what type of home you are seeking. If you are looking for SR regulars to ask, these folks might be a good option.. http://www.sundayriver.com/community/

Thats great info. We are novices coming from UK and were worried incase the age was dictated by insurance or something.

I can't speak to Sunday River but at most ski resorts, you often get better quality equipment and more personal attention if you hire it from a local ski shop rather than directly from the resort. If it aligns with your travel schedule, you are also much better off hiring the equipment the evening before your first day on skis. I'd ask for recommendations on the Sunday River message board.
