How's it looking? Do people think they'll make the weekend of 4/17-18 as now scheduled?

The reason I ask is I have plans for both Sugarloaf and Sunday River the upcoming two weekends. I'd rather hit the Loaf this weekend due to most likely having more terrain open and then go to Sunday River the following weekend.

I'll reverse these plans if people don't think SR will make it beyond this weekend.

As of Thursday 4/1 it was skiing great. Minor bare spots here and there and sludgy down low due to unusually high temps that day -- but White Heat was a blast and the Oz / Aurora / Jordan area featured long, soft, beautiful bump runs.

Not so good at the crystal ball but that's how it looked last Thursday and it wouldn't surprised me if it stayed pretty nice especially if it freezes up at night.

Skied there Friday and Sunday. They still had lots of snow but I can't see it lasting that long. The base areas are losing it fast. Top Gun, Tempest, and Am Ex all look like they're on their last leg. The very top of White Heat and Shockwave are thinning out but the snows great the rest of the way. A lot of trails were still in great shape (especially Tin Woodsman and Eureka) but the weather forecast and the amount of snow lost this weekend has me a little pessimistic.

So, you're recommendation would be for me to hit Sunday River this weekend as it's unlikely they make it beyond that? Weather forecast is very warm this week.

They'll probably make it to the closing date I'm just pessimistic about how much and what will be open. The weather doesn't look good this week either. I would probably hit Sugarloaf both weekends. This weekend is Parrothead weekend at SR and the following weekend is Reggae fest at SL so you can take that into consideration too. I'm more into skiing than the party atmosphere so I might avoid SR this weekend.

Everything through Sunday and them at SR, Barker for the next weekend. Spruce if it holds up and I think it won't. Getting thin in spots but good coverage in many areas. The loaf will be last qhite a bit longer.

Sunday River should make their closing date, but they are losings snow fast. The skiing should be good this weekend, but I am guessing not great by the following weekend. Based on their webcam, photos, and reports, Sugarloaf has significantly more snow than Sunday River. Personally, I would hit the River this weekend, and the loaf the following weekend.
