Date(s) Skied: sunday 3/11
Resort or Ski Area: the rivah
Conditions: ICE, bulletproof, spring sonditions
Trip Report: decided to go to the river after hearing reports that the loaf got mostly rain. got there at 8 and it was sunny and 37 degrees i was hoping for soft moguls and corn WRONG! they had groomed the slush and it froze solid (so that the "cordoroy" was still there at 9am!) most of the steep/bump runs were closed and i didnt even make it over past spruce. by about 10 everything below mid mountain had softened up quite nicely, risky/ amex and escapade were great as was cascades and monday morning. the woods were suprisingly soft and pretty nice, a bit thin down low but still good! Quit around 1:30, it clouded up and was getting colder/windy. overall a good day once it softened up.
awesome BBQ for lunch at Bob's next to the good food store!
rock hard bumps on agony
soft snow in last tango
some stumps poking through
sweet shelter in some unmarked glade
