Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown

Conditions: refreshed bumps/hardpack

Trip Report: Hit sundown from 10:30 till about 2:30. So psyched to see they refreshed nor'easter overnight. nice fresh cover up top, middle was scratchy and the bottom was soft as pillows. Bumps were pretty damn big down low too. Ran into powhunter around 12:30 or so. rather busy by the afternoon and top to bottom runs on noreaster were an iffy proposition at best. got cut off a number of times. good to ski with steve. quick video. i didnt edit the scenes at all so they are rough. light sucked too but oh well.

Merged. Where's this vid?!?!? :???: ;-)

its up. nothing much, but its addicting putting them together. snow was really nice and the light stunk so we didnt take much video at all. it was getting scraped off real fast though, you can see both steve and i have an issue at basically the same spot. in the morning, it was heaven.

you know, i love sundown and big props to them for all they do but i feel like i've been eating appetizers for a month now. I need a real meal. I need to get back up north quick. been too long.

Nice vid! However, I did think it was a bit funny that right after the "POWHUNTER" title you see that girl in white struggling in the bumps. My first thought was, "damn I thought Steve was better than that!"

i had to use it, i only had 4 clips total.

you should've heard the audio from the camera. she was screaming at the top of her lungs so i told her to wave.

I was feeling the same way. Towards the end of December when things were going off in Vermont, I was hanging back and skiing at Sundown exclusively and did so for a month due to the early seeding. I almost felt guilty about it. Then the thaw came and it wasn't worth going too far. So up until last week, I was at Sundown only for a month straight; pretty much only skiing Nor'easter and more often than not, the same line.

That all changed last Friday and again yesterday and I really enjoyed the terrain variety, pitch and vert. I will say that all that practice on Nor'easter helped me improve some and I felt like I skied well this weekend. Winter is back now and it's time to head north as much as possible. Still, I am looking forward to Sundown bumps on Thursday night. Who would've guessed we could feel some slight Nor'easter burnout!?
