I am in the market for getting a telemark package and thought I might try some used equipment first to see how I like it but figuring out the boot sizes is driving me nuts.

I wear a 10.5 shoe but my ski and snowboard boots are an 11.

What I don't get is on the Garmount chart 10.5 to 11 to 11.5 is 28/28.5 so where do you draw the line? I guess I would get a 28 since I am really a 10.5

Scarpa sizing says 10.5 is a 27.5 and 11 is a 28, so if I get Scarpa boots, is it better to be a little roomier and get the size 28?

Most all skiboots label in "MONDO". "US Mens" should just match up.

Downhill boots scheme
....always break on the whole size, the ".5" is the same whole-number/shell size, just a little larger liner.
(ie 27 and 27.5 is the same shell...just little larger liner)

Scarpa, Garmont, and Black Diamond are on the downhill scheme, however as one can see there is a little bit of change...in Garmont and Black Diamond, not quite so cut & dry sizing.(maybe flaw simply in the font?).

(see chart-page in link):
