Funny that this has been in the comment section of their website for a few years:

"Tenney mountain has the "dankest trees". Best tree skiing/riding around. I love smoking those dank trees on my ride and watching the white smoke fly though the air as i ride the dankest trees in the east. Tenney is DANK. ..."

Site also hasn't been updated since August. They don't look like they are on the SkiNH this year either. I mean, I know it has been a dank summer and all, but lets get it together.

Last winter, Tenney had a Bang Camaro song (Rock of Mages) playing in the background.

The band gets a lot of airtime, Bruins games, Celtics games....and one of their newer songs (Revolution) gets played @ the Revs games.

...just sayin.

From the Urban dictionary:

Dank = an expression frequently used by stoners and hippies for something of high quality. That borritos was dank, man.

I scooped a pass for $99 last season at Tenney and skied there a half dozen times or so. They do have some great low angle trees on map, a few off map steeper slots and a couple cool twisty trails. I had a couple of really nice days there. The place is plagued by the long, sllloooowwww summit double. Definitely in need of a HSQ. It was money well spent, but I didn't feel this years price of $199 was worth it with Ragged next door charging $329.

I've never hear the word Dank used for anything besides weed (aka "trees")

Yeah, I'm hip to the dankness.

I just found it a funny thing to be on the website, and for so long.

I also did the $99 thing last year and watched the white smoke float up as I, myself, burned up those dank trees. Not shwag, by any means. But I've skied a lot danker. I'd call it mid-grade. Wish they had larger quantities to offer too. But when you are jonesin you can't really be too picky.

Anyway, me and the fam live in Plymouth so we'll be there often. The double doesn't drive me insane the way it seems to everybody else. A chance to show the kids a bygone era. And I feel the need to support the local mountain, keep it a viable option and Plymouth a ski town (even though most skiers in town head further north) vs. a town that is near a bunch of ski areas. If it involved hopping on the interstate I would probably keep driving.

Some places I don't mind long slow lifts. MRG would be one of them. I really do dig how old school Tenney is, especially the lodge. If I lived in town, I'd probably get a pass. It's about an hour and forty minutes from home for me, Ragged is an hour and twenty five. Considering the drive time, I want to get in as much skiing as possible when I go and at 15 minutes per ride to the summit for 1400 vert, you really can't bang out a ton of runs at Tenney. Ragged's six pack factored heavily in my decision to go there.

Other considerations for me this season were Sunapee of Loon, both about an hour forty five from me. Went with Ragged mainly because I ski weekends and don't want to deal with the massive crowds at Loon or Sunapee. Pass was nearly half the cost with no black outs as well.

Should I head over to Tenney for a day though, I'll give you a shout and maybe we can hook up for some turns.

Definitely do, if you do. I plan on hitting Ragged. I'll let you know.

Single Chair@MRG = Sacred Relic

Double@Tenney = Antiquated Remnant

Oh well. Never was a line more than 45 seconds last year. Good thing, cause you are right about gettiing your day's worth. 3 runs/hour is about the max. And that is slow up and bookin' it down.

Haven't been to MRG in 8 years. Need to get back.
