every year, on my birthday, i get asc gift cards. couple hundred dollars worth. while i certainly appreciate the gifts, from my bro and parents, it always makes me jones hard to ski. which stinks cause i've just gotten to the point where i am relaxed and going with the flow and not thinking about skiing. Now, i sit here, dying to get back on the horse and get thrown again. this too, shall pass. useless thread, but had to get it off my chest.

Annual kick?

Heck, 2knees I get to fantasizing almost daily. I use my Skier's Edge machine to stay in shape. Try not thinking about skiing while "making turns" with a ski pole in each hand! Or, on days when I just go shopping at Costco, and they are running those Sports videos on their HD TV floor models and a ski sequence pops up. That's emotionally wrenching. I can barely stand digging around in my chest freezer for some steaks without having that accumulated frost evoke visions of some sublime runs from last season. I think we are just doomed to live with this addiction, and have to face it one day at a time. But, like a 5 year old waiting for his birthday party or Santa, the the tension is wearing.

I feel your pain. I suffered a self induced 'kick in the pants' the other day when I decided I could handle watching Schooled without jonseing too much... I was wrong!

Last night, I had a very realistic dream I was at Killington in early November and when I got home I posted a TR here and then saw that Wachusett would be opening in 4 days. Then I went on weather.com and there was a snowstorm coming next weekend with a foot of snow. Then I get up and it's almost 80 out. Dammit.

Interesting Idea . . .. I wonder how many people would be willing to buy multiple year ASC passes. Assume you could buy them for this year's early season prices. There are a lot of variables of course. First your personal condition . .. . you could be injured or have another reason like a new child that may limit your skiing. Then there is whole debt issue for ASC . .. will your favorite resort be part of the pass in years to come or will ACs even own the resorts in the future.

In terms of the resort intent of this topic. I dream of skiing ever day. Even the day, my son was born recently i was dreaming of my first day on snow with him. Next season have those tickets sent to me (I can always use them on blackout dates) to save you the issue.
