Alta is at the exact same point as the 2017/18 season on this date, 140 inches. That year they wound up getting 388 inches total which is the lowest in the past 20 years.
If you go down to season totals you can compare year by year.
It will get better.

Yeah, I am starting to get concerned. Mainly for our water situation.

Alta and Snowbird are not skiing "that" badly. Not great, but not as bad. If we had not received that last storm cycle then we would have been in serious trouble.

Snowbasin has a 39" base. Woof.

Nordic Valley has a 5" base.

Brighton was rough last week when I went. Lots of ice and just firm snow that was not fun to ski.
Interesting. We skied Utah last week. Hit Alta, Snowbird, Snowbasin and Brighton. Out of all of them Brighton had the least firm snow and the most soft snow off piste. Alta and Snowbird were close but almost everything we skied off the groomers was pretty firm. always edgeable, not ice, but there was no relaxing. Snowbasin actually had a fair amount of ice and hard frozen crustiness.

Well, the big caveat is that I was skiing in the evening. Not off of fresh grooming.

Just found out I might be able to get a great deal on a place at the Apex residences in Park City (Canyons side it looks like) for a week in the Spring. I know the snow is not what it usually is out there, but does anyone know how late the Apex places would still be ski-in ski-out? They say they are "at the highest elevation in Canyons Village at Park City Resort."

If Apex isnt ski-in-ski-out until the season ends we're F'd. It's right near the bottom of RPG off Raptor Way, so like Homerun on the Park City city that needs to stay open literally to closing day or there wont be skiing. I mean, technically they could close all that lower mountain stuff & you could still return to the base by loading at ~8,000 feet on either RPG or Sunrise, but I dunno if they'd bother. But that area (Raptor Way, Sunrise, etc..) has been getting nuked with snowmaking because of how critical it is.

Great, thanks! Do you know when things normally become Spring conditions and when the trails start to close up?
