for anybody who has been skiing to europe or even read anything about skiing in europe, what are the toughest areas out there?

I have heard from people who have been there that Chamonix (France) is supposed to have some of the toughest terrain in Europe.....my only EU experience was quite different - at Zermatt (Switz) the tram takes you to 12,800 feet up on the Klein (Little) Matterhorn, but dumps you out on a bunny slope that a baby could ski down......good luck....
