Ok, so for Christmas, I bought my brother an Orion. So far, it's been an Orion-less summer for me, which has been a bit of a bummer. Losing weight so I don't have knee pain next winter is more important then BBQ. (Skiing beats BBQ hands down)

Anyway, back to the Rib-Off. Here's the rules.
We each prepare 3 racks of ribs for smoking. After they are done in the Orion, we'll choose 1 rack for final saucing on the grill for presentation. All tasting will be a blind taste test. The judges are my wife, my brother's wife, dad and step-mom.

On to the goods. A warning here...I was playing around with the macro setting on my camera, so be prepared for some extreme close ups of meticulously prepared pork products. I am not responsible if this causes you to go for an unanticipated snack or beer.

The offerings. My brother chose the top blister pack.

My weapons...so many options. I choose 1 rack with the Orion rub, 2 racks with the Jake's. I also used the BBQ Chit sauce.

So in the end, it was a draw. Here's the tally.
Root - 2 (My sis-in law & dad)
Bro - 2 (wife & step mom)

Both my wife and step mom, prefer sweeter ribs, and my sister in law and dad prefer tangy ribs.

So we attempted an elimination round. Both my brother and I would be given two ribs...not knowing who's they were and would choose which one they liked better.

Well, we both picked the ribs we prepared. Everything we made was unbelievably good.

Here's some shots of the other 4 racks that were not part of the judging.

Great TR. I would be a bit jealous but I had pulled pork. Those ribs look great!

Hey Warp...

Would that be a R.D. ?, a PhR, HDR ? Since JD is juris doctorate I guess RD is ribologist (ribist)doctorate. This is very important to get this accurate.
