from Friends of Tuckerman
Irene left her mark on the Mountain this year. A rock slide during the hurricane Irene gave Hillmans Highway a facelift and there was minor damage to the bridges on the Tucks Trail. Chris Joosen, Lead Snow Ranger, reports that all the bridges are intact and passable by foot traffic but need some maintenance before winter.
We have a very busy schedule this fall. October 22nd and 23rd is our annual trail work weekend. We will be working on projects on the Sherburne Ski Trail, GOS trail and/or Tucks Trail. Volunteers will be meeting at the north end of the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center parking lot at 8am. We'll have t-shirts and lunches for those who choose to volunteer their help.
