Good day!
I look for boots and bindings that will be suitable for expeditions - when skiing and hiking are combined. It seems that modern AT boots are not very good for long hikings across winter terrain and mountains, but traditional mountaineering boots are. So, I seek for bindings that will suit for my La Sportiva Spantik mountaineering boots.
I know exactly that Silvretta 500 are suitable. But this model is end-of-sale now. I can not find info if new Silvretta Pure Performance also suitable for mountaineering boots (not AT boots). Can you help me - can you recommend ski-touring (Alpine-Touring) bindings that are suitable for traditional mountaineering boots like my La Sportiva Spantik?

Thank you in advance!

I don't know that any exist, aside from the silvretta 500 and the old 404.

The Silvretta Pure is not, it is meant for AT boots. It has a DIN releasable toe and heel piece. I don't think any company wants to make nonreleasable alpine bindings anymore because they're a little dangerous.

I don't know, I would think skiing in such a soft boot would be pretty risky, especially on a multiday expedition. Guys like Andrew McLean do some pretty long expeditions in AT/ski mountaineering boots. Unless you're planning on traveling over some really flat ground, you're better off being in the skis with skins on anyway.

There are a lot of three buckle boots more oriented towards mountaineering than downhill skiing. AT boots are more than just beef boots and a lot of top ski mountaineer professionals do long excursions in AT boots. Check out the lighter weight / less beefier three buckle mountaineering options before writing off AT boots completely. Match them up with a light weight Dynafit binding and you'll be good to go.
