Vail, Friday March 20
Beaver Creek, Saturday March 21
Breckenridge, Sunday March 22
Conditions: Spring skiing with temps ranging from the 40's to 70 degrees on Saturday. Frozen mashed in the mornings and some DEEP soft corn (especially in the Vail bowls).
Vail was sweet, skied mostly in the back bowls. Tried out Blue Sky Basin, but it stayed pretty frozen all day.
I was very impressed with Beaver Creek. I had no idea the great terrain it has and most of the clientele stay off of it. The whole service thing is nice too. I had an issue with my boot and headed to the base to see if I could find a boot fitter. Wound up in Beaver Creek Sports and their boot fitter was really nice. Took care of my problem, which involved grinding and a little padding, for no charge. Missed out on the free cookies at 3 because we were still skiing.
Breckenridge actually had the best snow of the weekend. We spent most of the day skiing off of the T-bar and the Imperial Express quad. The snow up in the bowl had dodged the corn cycle and was really nice and chalky with some windblown powder here and there.
