Are you wondering why "Vermont Maple Syrup" has to only contain 80% sap from Vermont to be classified from Vermont??? That always got me too.

New rules established in 2006 state all labels for maple syrup sold in Vermont must list the states from where the sap comes from. Maple Grove Farms one of the largest maple syrup producers in the country located in St J. ended up taking the Vermont name off their labels entirely.
