Here are the entries:

Greg

As we only received a couple of entries, I only put mine in there to make it interesting. In the event my entry gets the most votes, second place will get the lift tickets. The poll will run for 4 days and the winner will be determined Friday night. Vote now!

Vote before you read this!

MY critique:

FWIW, I find myself distracted by the close range obtructions on Greg's and severine's shots. Yet, the carve of the autoroad adds an nice contrast to the panorama view from RISkier, thus that one got my vote!

To be fair, the trail signs and trees in the foreground serve 2 purposes: they lend perspective and frame the shot. Sheesh! (And yes, I did take photography in high school and had to take shots that were graded on the ability to use these elements of a photograph...) :)

RISkier has the added benefit of having the presis in the background on a beautiful clear day, that's almost an unfair advantage!

greg, if your pic had the jericho sign a litter further away and on the very edge of the photo instead of towards the center, that would be a sweet pic. didn't know jiminy sported such a fine view. and what's a double diamond doing being groomed? i thought only sunday river was lame enough to do that! unless i'm not seeing the trail conditions right...

severine pic is a bit dark and hard to see the view. the trees add to the darkness. probably just the time of day and the light at the time, MRG has some fine views. can hardly read the trail names on the signs.

I agree, having Mount Washinton and the Presidentials in the background is cheating. BW has great views even if the skiing is too tame for many. One reason I really want to ski Wildcat is that I always hear the views are even more spectacular.

Congratulations RISkier! Great photo! :D
And you should definitely get an honerable mention. I think your photo has the best depth of the three. The black diamond trail signs really complement the feeling that you will be "dropping" into those trails.

Thank you. Special thanks to severin and Greg! If I were voting, I'd have voted for the shot from Whistler in the companion thread--WOW! I really do feel like I had an unfair advantage. It wasn't photographic talent, it was just a spectacular view of Mount Washington and the Presidentials that we were lucky to come across on a very nice day. I will say that I came around the corner to start down deception bowl and opened my mouth in awe. Folks I was skiing with were ahead so I kept going, but insisted we go right back to take some pics. Just a very grand view!
